Mrs. Helen Aiken Stansell passed away December 6 at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sally Aiken. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clarence E. Stansell; sisters Irene Whitaker and Phylona Peeler; a brother Robert Aiken.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. She retired from N.C. Department of Social Services,
serving Western North Carolina. She was a lifelong member of Balfour Baptist Church.
Her values of integrity, honesty, and love will always be remembered by family and friends. She is survived by nieces; Myrtle G. Pruitt of Shelby, NC., Barbara Dalton of Ednyville, NC.; nephews Joseph Whitaker and wife Doris of Hendersonville, NC. and Forest Peeler of Greenville, SC., and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
