Get to Know Our Compassionate Staff
James C. “Jay” Jackson, Owner
James C. “Jay” Jackson grew up in the family business. He started working part time at the age of 15 with his grandfather, Clyde, Jay’s father, Fred Jackson and his uncle, Charles Jackson. In 1990 Jay graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia. He immediately began his full-time career in funeral service and has remained with Jackson Funeral Service ever since. His pride and dedication to the family business eventually led him to take over as Owner and Manager in 2006. In 2022 Jay appointed Becky Watkins as the General Manager.
Jay has volunteered with the Henderson County Cemetery Advisory Committee for over 18 years. This important committee is tasked with locating all known cemeteries in Henderson County and working to maintain not only the physical cemeteries, but also the local heritage they provide to the citizens of the county.
Jay loves the outdoors, especially golf, boating and swimming.
Rebecca “Becky” Watkins, CFSP, General Manager

“Becky” is from the Henderson County area and is an Honor’s Graduate of West Henderson High School. Graduating with highest honors from Fayetteville Technical Community College, she received a degree in Applied Science and was licensed in Funeral Service in 2006. She was awarded the title, CFSP (Certified Funeral Service Practitioner) in 2012 by exceeding certification requirements in Academics, Profession, Public Education and Service, and Career Review. She is currently the only female Funeral Director / Embalmer in Henderson County to hold this certification and has done so for eleven consecutive years. She continues to serve our community in this capacity. In 2007 she was awarded The Business and Professional Women’s Woman of The Year.
Becky began serving as a funeral director for Jackson’s in 2019. In 2022 she was appointed as the General Manager. Becky is also a Certified Crematory Technician. She is a licensed Cosmetologist and is known for her talents in Restorative Arts.
In her spare time, Becky loves spending time with her husband, Andy and her family. She and her husband both share an interest in collecting antique and eclectic funeral industry items. Her love for “Doodling”, sketching and pastel drawing is her “Stress Relief.”
Andy Robinson, Office Manager

Andy Robinson is from the Henderson County, North Carolina. He has been a valued member of the Jackson Funeral Service staff since 1997. With over 25 years of experience in the funeral industry. Andy is the Office Manager and is also a Certified Crematory Technician and Crematory Manager. Andy takes pride in serving our families with dedication and experience.
Andy and his wife Becky like to spend their time off in the company of their 11 grandchildren. He has also been involved with the organization, Compassionate Friends since 2005.
Justin Robinson
Justin joined our full time staff January, 2021. A native and life-long resident of Henderson County, he is a 2012 graduate of East Henderson High School and received certification in Mechanics from BRCC. He is a Certified Crematory Technician and is currently pursuing a degree in Mortuary Science.
Jennifer Jackson Erwin
Jennifer has worked in the family business since 2002. She currently works part-time in the administrative services. She enjoys spending time with her family, running and yoga, figuring out puzzles (thank you Jay) and volunteering with non-profit animal shelters
Dennis Moore
Dennis joined our staff in 2021. He is a native of Henderson County, and lives in the Fletcher area with his wife Barbara. They have a daughter, son-in-law and 3 granddaughters. He is a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church. He worked in Sales for more than thirty years prior to joining us at JFS. He has enjoyed singing Southern Gospel music from the age of six years old and has done so all around WNC with his family.
Dan Hinkle
While Dan is a part time member of the Jackson Funeral Service staff, he plays a very important role in our success. Because he is such a well-respected person in our community, he routinely assists many Funeral Services for our families. Dan is also a local businessman and a Deacon at Mountain Home Baptist Church.
Jason Mumaugh
Jason assists Jackson Funeral Service on a part time basis while working on our “first call” staff. He is a dedicated family man who is currently raising seven children. During the week you can find him on one of the local softball fields. On weekends he is a very active member at Calvary Baptist Church.
Keith Barger
Keith is a member of our part time staff here at Jackson Funeral Service. During the week he can be found working his regular job at Cintas Facility Services. On nights and weekends he assists on our “first call” staff. Keith enjoys motorcycling, hiking and fishing in his spare time.
