Jeff Wilson passed away on September 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Jeff dearly loved his wife Jan. He was a son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, boss, friend, and companion. He performed all of these roles with an intensity that few people ever get to witness and he loved others with that same intensity. He attacked every day and saw life as a challenge that he was meant to confront and overcome. His life was an example of integrity that all should aspire to and his honesty was an integral part of everything he accomplished. This never wavered through good times or bad and he was always there to help others when needed. Jeff always reached out to help anyone truly in need while never expecting any praise or accolades.

He was a master builder with many years of extremely high quality construction in North and South Carolina and respected by many architects and other builders in the industry. His desire to teach his skills to new carpenters and his work ethic were why so many were drawn to work with him or for him. Many of the best artisans in western North Carolina owe their training to Jeff and his crew of experienced woodworkers.

He loved his children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews so very much and was always available for a pep talk or admonishment, whichever he sensed was necessary. Jeff was resolute in his beliefs and never wavered, and that trait is now evident in the young lives he touched.

Jeff was never afraid to have a good time and the joy he felt when he was with others was infectious. Whether it was a small gathering, or a huge group of revelers Jeff was sure to be there laughing and living life to the fullest. He and Jan had an avid love of the outdoors and spent most of their free time on horseback, hiking with their dogs or kayaking the French Broad river. He loved his horses and the many dogs he has had through the years.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jan; his parents, Terry and Betty Wilson, his brothers Mike(Regina), Craig(Kathy), and Lincoln(Suzanne); his sisters- in- law Karen Bartlett, Nancy Squires,  his children Ashley Barker(Paul), Bryon Wilson; his nieces and nephews, Ashley Vickers(Aaron), David Wilson, Katelyn Finkbiner, Jacob Finkbiner(Dani),  Kaitlynn Wilson, Morgan Gatti( James), and Cameron Squires; his grandchildren Wesley Barker, Joshua Barker, Mattie Barker, and Ryes Wilson. He is also survived by numerous dogs and several horses, all of which he loved deeply.

He will be missed by so many and his passing has left a huge void in all of our lives.
