Peggy Meek Gray, 76, of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, July 06, 2022 at the John F. Keever Solace Center.
She was the daughter of the late Milton B. and Anna Stackhouse Meek and wife of the late John Gray. She was preceded in death by one sister, June Howell.
She retired from Henderson County Department of Social Services after 35 faithful years of service. Peggy had many joys in life; traveling, fishing, going to the beach, working in her flower garden and she especially loved helping her friends at Mike’s on Main and 305. Her greatest passion was her family and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Archibald Hugh Rutledge Jr. and his wife Lindsay; her daughter, Angela Rutledge and her husband Daniel O’Connell; her step-son, John Gray Jr. and his wife Karen; seven grandchildren, Ashton Hugh Rutledge, Cooper Lee Rutledge, Brayden Durner, Cameron O’Connell, Jack Gray, Amelia Gray and Charlie Gray; two sisters, Clara Blankenship and Sandra Beaudry and her husband John; her mother in law, Gwen Bailey and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service. A reception will follow the service at 3:30 PM at 305: 305 N. Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28739. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
