Linda Diane Case of Hendersonville passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, after a two-year battle with colon cancer. She was 75 years old.
Diane was the daughter of the late Mary Dorn Case and the late Leonard P. Case.
She is survived by brothers, William Case (Kay), James Case (Genindle), Len Case (Janet); and sisters, Lucy Case and Viola Case London; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Diane was a 1967 graduate of West Henderson High School and spent most of her life in Henderson County. In 1969, she began a 30-year career as a flight attendant with Delta Air Lines. She was married to Frank Avent for twelve years while living in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2013, Diane returned to live in Hendersonville until her death. She enjoyed many interests in retirement. She was certified in cosmetology and reflexology. She won many awards for her floral designs in Alexandria Garden Clubs. Diane won the Hendersonville annual tulip photography contest three times. She performed stand-up comedy at the Black Bear coffee shop in Hendersonville.
A graveside service will be held on Friday March 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Shepherd Memorial Park, 5045 Asheville Highway, Hendersonville, NC 28791. Her brother James Case will officiate. Music will be provided by Phil Wilson. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
