Lois Adcock Bayne, 95, died peacefully in hospice on August 19, 2024.
She was the daughter of Bessie and CW Adcock and had 9 siblings.
She graduated Salutatorian in 1945 from Etowah High School.
Later she was married to Everette T Bayne Jr, for over 65 years. They raised 4 children: Elizabeth B Hunter, Jerry A Bayne (Deborah Bayne), Karen Eve Bayne (Peter Gollup) and Michael E Bayne (d 1980).
Lois managed a home and farm in Etowah NC, and then in Green River Valley of Henderson County with Everette. Lois was an active leader in her community, church, 4-H, Extension Homemakers and as a swimming coordinator for rural kids. She worked in many jobs. Her favorites were as a Nutrition Aide for the Henderson County Agricultural Extension office and as the business/office manager for Bayne Construction and Bayne Nursery.
Lois and Everette had 4 children, 6 granddaughters, 9 great grands, and 2 great, great grandchildren. Her legacy of lifelong learning stands to this day.
A funeral service will be held, Thursday August 22, 2024 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, East Flat Rock, at 7 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Internment at Forest Lawn Cemetery the following day with family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 581 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731, Henderson County 4H, 100 Jackson Park Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792 or to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 476 Oak Grove road, Flat Rock, NC 28731
