Nov 25, 2019

Nancy Lee Hicks, 78, of Hendersonville, NC and Dallas, TX passed away on November 25, 2019 at Elizabeth House after a valiant fight with cancer. Nancy grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University, she worked for Proctor and Gamble in Market Research. Her journey then brought her to Dallas, Texas where her outgoing personality and innate charisma led her to a successful career as a Real Estate Broker with Ebby Halliday. During this time she raised two amazing, strong daughters and met the love of her life, Alexander Hicks. Upon marrying Al 27 years ago, they enjoyed a combined family of 8 children. Since that time, their family has grown to include 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren (and growing).

Their passion for travel and cultural exchange led to their active work in Friendship Force, where they traveled, hosted, and made many new friends from Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Belgium, Chile, Italy, Peru, Brazil, Canada, Latvia, Taiwan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and many places in the United States. They enjoyed theater, visual arts, exploring new areas, and engaging in adventures while traveling.

Nancy’s greatest joy was entertaining. Bringing together family and friends allowed her to share her culinary and hostess skills. Growing up in a home where parties were aplenty and generosity the norm, she learned the joy and satisfaction of bring people together to celebrate, whatever the reason. Whether organizing a function at the Richardson Women’s Club or cooking for her bridge group, she strove to provide the most memorable experience and greatest joy!
