Kathy Diane Heatherly, 64, of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025.
She was the daughter of Melba Jean Williams and the late Tommy Heatherly.
Kathy was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kathy Renee Heaton; her grandson, Gabriel Crowe; her oldest brother, Bobby Heatherly; and her maternal and paternal grandparents, whom she will meet again on the other side.
Kathy enjoyed spending time at home doing puzzles with her grandchildren, and in her spare time, she loved working on vehicles. She will be remembered for her hands-on spirit, her love for her family, and the joy she found in simple moments shared with those she loved.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Melba Williams; her brothers, Roger Heatherly and Barry Heatherly; her grandchildren, Rue Drake and Alexis Hipp; her great-granddaughter, Stevie Hill; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Dana Baptist Church, with the Reverend Tyler Peagram officiating.
