John Francis Melanson, 81, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully while in hospice care on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
He was born on December 10, 1944, in Waltham, Massachusetts. John honorably served his country as a United States Army veteran, including overseas service in Germany. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to his work as a design draftsman and carpenter, applying skill, precision, and craftsmanship to every project he undertook. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail.
John was preceded in death by his dear friend and lifetime partner, Richard Deshefy; his parents, Jeannette and Arthur Melanson; and his brothers, Robert and Roger Melanson.
John is lovingly survived by his sister, Julie Melanson Bonacci of Billerica, Massachusetts; his brothers, Richard Melanson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Newport, Rhode Island, and Ronald Melanson and his wife, Nichkol, of Camas, Washington; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Melanson of Billerica, Massachuestts; as well as several nieces and nephews.
John will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
