Mario Leyva, 94, of Hendersonville, NC passed away Wednesday, January 6th peacefully at his residence.
He was born in Holguin, Cuba and was a resident of North Carolina for 53 years. Mario was the son of Albita and Ruben Ruiz. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ada Evelyn Leyva, to whom he was married for 64 years and son, Tony Leyva.
He was employed by Taylor’s Instrument Company for 25 years. He and his wife Ada Evelyn also owned Leyva Uniform Center in Hendersonville for 27 years.
Mario is survived by his family; a son, Mickey Leyva and wife Robin of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Eva Cieri and husband David of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Rebecca Morris and husband Randall of Asheboro, NC; six grandchildren, Ivan, Joan, Jeremy, Tiffany, Jonathan, and Anthony; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Brianna, Kinsley, Caleb, and Collin, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 10th at Pace Cemetery in Green River with his son Mickey Leyva officiating.
