Mary Irene Williams, 77, passed away on January 8,2021, following a brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, James Williams; one daughter, Geena Scherer; one grandson, Nicholas Scherer; and one brother, Melvin Justus. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Ralph and Saretta Justus.
Mary was a lifetime resident of Edneyville and an Edneyville High School Alumni. She married the love of her life, James, over 56 years ago and they were inseparable for every one of those years. Her grandson, Nicholas (Nic), was the apple of her eye. She loved collecting antiques, Coca-Cola memorabilia and Mickey Mouse collectables. Anyone who has ever been to her home, can see the results of her passions.
She always had a smile on her face and something nice to say to anyone who met her. Her smile was infectious! After several years at Eckerd Drugs and 20 years at Edneyville Elementary, she gained many dear and lifetime friends. “Miss Mary” was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, extended family and friends.
Everyone knew she was an avid Elvis Presley fan, so we did smile a little when she decided to leave us on his birthday.
The family will receive friends on Friday, 1/22/2021, from 2-3:00 pm at the funeral home. The family has entrusted Jackson Funeral Service with the arrangements.
