Donna Elveen Guenter, 76, of Hendersonville, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 8, 2022.
The daughter of the late Fred W. Baker and Elizabeth A. (Lawrence) Baker. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, J. Darrell Guenter; her two sons, Bradley (Jennifer) and Eric; her four grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Janet) Baker; her niece, Michelle Phillips; many grand nieces and nephews; and extended family.
Donna was born April 19, 1945, in Keene, NH. As a teenager she recognized her need for salvation and began her relationship with her Heavenly Father, dedicating her life to serving Him. She graduated from Baptist Bible College in Pennsylvania with a degree in Biblical Education, and went on to be a missionary in Liberia, Africa where she married fellow missionary Darrell Guenter. Together they served the Lord as foreign missionaries for 14 years before returning to Massachusetts to serve full time in a local church for another 14 years.
Donna’s passion and desire was to serve her Lord and Savior and to bring honor and glory to Him. She was an active member of their church, Bethany Bible Church in Hendersonville, NC. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, researching her family history, and playing musical instruments including the tuba, trumpet, baritone, and piano.
She will be greatly missed on this earth until we are able to see her again in heaven.
There will be a private ceremony for immediate family this weekend. A celebration service of her life and promotion to Glory will be held in the spring, details to follow.
