Emily Connell Puckett, 80, of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at The Elizabeth House.
She is survived by her beloved son, David, and her devoted siblings: Sydney Chappelear of Greenville, SC; James Connell (Lou) of Williamstown, NJ; and Nora Camp, Martha Grose, and Linda Laughter, all of Hendersonville, NC. Emily also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her love and care for each.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Hampton Puckett; her parents, Amy Viola Connell and James Arthur Connell; her brother, Charles Graham Connell; and one niece, Laurie Chappelear.
Emily dedicated her career to serving her communities at The Town of Laurel Park, The City of Hendersonville, and over 20 devoted years at The Hendersonville Country Club. She was also a lifelong member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Flat Rock, her unwavering love for the Lord was a cornerstone of her life.
Emily was known for her quick wit, sharp sense of style, and love of thrifting. She brought joy and inspiration to everyone she met. Her warmth, humor, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation and celebration of Emily’s life will be held at Jackson Funeral Service in Hendersonville, NC, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, visitation will begin at 1pm and celebration of life at 2pm. Services will be officiated by Danny Pridmore of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
