Peggy Hill Messer, 84, of Edneyville, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 after a period of declining health.
She was a native and life long resident of the Edneyville Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Grace Freeman Hill; a son, Mark Joseph Messer and a brother, Wesley Hill.
She graduated from Edneyville High School in 1954.
She was a lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
She was a member of the Edneyville Apple Co-op.
She worked for C.T.S., General Electric, B B & T Bank, Youngblood Truck Lines and B & A Hyder Trucking.
Peggy loved to travel.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory R. Messer and his wife Brenda of Fruitland, North Carolina and Theodore Sidney Messer of the home; grandchildren, Dr. Jonathan Messer of Miami, Florida, Tracy Marie Messer of Wilson, North Carolina, Ryan Messer of Lake Lure, North Carolina; two step-grandchildren, Jeremy Jones of Greenville, South Carolina and Zachary Jones of Alexandria, Virginia; three great grandchildren, Caleb Wright of Fruitland, North Carolina, Peighton Carter of Wilson, North Carolina and Ian Jones of Mars Hill, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Barbara Oates Hill of Hendersonville, North Carolina and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Peggy will be held at a later date.
