Gertrude Bayne Jackson, 86, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at her home.
A native and lifelong resident of the Tuxedo area of Hendersonville, Gertrude was a woman of strong faith and a member of the Baptist community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George (Jr.) W. Jackson; her parents, Ulysses and Alice Davis Bayne; and several siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, daughter Kathy Phillips, and sons Randy Jackson (Deb), Mark Jackson (Tonya), and Shane Jackson (Molly), all of Hendersonville. She is also survived by her brothers, Norman Bayne (Nancy) and Doug Bayne (Edith), along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gertrude retired from Kimberly-Clark after many years of dedicated service. She found great joy in gardening, watching birds, spending time with her grandchildren, and caring for her beloved pets, whom she affectionately considered her “fur grandchildren.”
A graveside service will be held, Friday, February 06, 2026 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Bayne Cemetery in Tuxedo, NC with the Reverend Norrman Bayne officiating..
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bayne Cemetery Fund, 52 Relyea Avenue, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at the home of her daughter, Kathy, located at 52 Relyea Avenue, Hendersonville, NC.
