Edward (Eddie) Philemon Head, 60, of Zirconia, NC was released from his earthly bonds into the arms of his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2024, at Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC, surrounded by his loving family.
Eddie was a wonderful dad, father-in-law, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. He was always there to lend a hand, whether it was listening, giving advice, helping you see an issue from a different perspective, protecting someone from a person or situation, or putting a part on a vehicle in a driveway or on the side of the road.
He was the quintessential “girl dad”. He loved his girls to the moon and back. He was so proud of the wonderful women they have become and loved his sons-in-law as his own.
Eddie made friends wherever he went and has been described as “the life of the party”, “so much fun” and “a teddy bear”. His life’s philosophy was you do the right thing in every situation, and the connections you make in life are more important than the money you make.
Eddie was predeceased by his father, Clinton Earl Head, and a sister, Alma Jane Head Staton.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Devon and Patrick McCraw of Columbus, NC and Sydney and Samuel Capps of Zirconia, NC. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Capps Head, of Zirconia, NC; his sisters, Mary Head Henderson of Hendersonville, NC and Nancy Head Maybin and husband, Terry Lee Maybin of Zirconia, NC. He is survived by his brother, Earl Head and wife, Gwen of Zirconia, NC and a brother-in-law, Don Staton of Hendersonville, NC. He was the uncle to three nephews and seven nieces. He was also the great uncle of eleven grandnephews, eleven grandnieces, and a grandniece due in July. He left behind numerous cousins and friends. The void left by his passing will now be filled with “Eddie Memories” and “Eddie Stories”. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held, Sunday February 11, 2024 at four o’clock in the afternoon at Cedar Springs Baptist Church in Green river. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the church.
Condolences may be sent to the Head family at www.jacksonfuneralservice.com or C/O Jackson Funeral Service 1101 Greenville Highway, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Please include the name of the deceased on the condolence.
