Charles William Hill, 79, of Hendersonville, NC passed away on February 6, 2026, surrounded in love by his family. He was born on August 22, 1946, in Washington DC, and was the son of Charles Hubert Hill and Mercedes Moran Hill.

Charlie (Chuck) is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joan Allyn Hill, their seven children, son-in-laws, and 12 grandchildren; Dawn, Jay, Kelly, Steven, and Lisa Ramsburg; Wendy Hill and Shereen Malek; Sherri and Dale West; Tina, Scott, Isabelle, Charlie, and Amelia Imig; Traci, Jeff, Henry, and Ruby Lupo; Alyssa, Frank, and Miles Muller; Charlie, Sebastian, and Tristin Hill.

Charlie and Joan married on September 25, 1964 in North Carolina and originally settled in Arlington, VA before moving to Germantown, MD for over 40 years. Charlie and Joan relocated to Hendersonville, NC in 2017 to be close to their new grandson and have built a beautiful life and community here filled with faith, friendship, and family. They treasure their life here.

Charlie was a cartographer for the Defense Mapping Agency in Washington, DC for 37 years before retiring. He loved camping, hiking, nature, bird watching, mint chocolate chip ice cream, but most of all, he loved his family. He could fix anything. He was a man of the highest integrity, honesty, and loyalty. He had a quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and always a twinkle in his bright blue eyes. He will be missed beyond measure and will be forever in our hearts.

He is reunited in heaven with his parents and his brother William Hill. He is survived by siblings John Hill (Linda), Julia Stevenson, and Emily Westbrook (John); and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A church service will be held in his honor on Friday, February 13th at Blue Ridge Christian Church, 147 Oren Drive, Mills River, NC 28759. Visitation from 2 to 3pm followed by service.
