Feb 7, 2025

Cinda went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday evening February 7,  2025.  She was born on July 12, 1950 to the late David E. Smith and Bernice M. Smith(Sarber) in Sterling Township, Illinois.

Cinda graduated from Sterling Township High School in 1968.  She lived most of her adult life in Orlando area where she thrived as legal secretary until she retired in  2012.  She and her husband John moved to Hendersonville area in 2012 where they immediately fell in love with the mountains. She loved to hike, particularly to the many waterfalls in the area.  She was an avid outdoor lady and also enjoyed scuba diving, golf, fishing, sailing, and gardening.

Cinda accepted Jesus as her savior in 1980 and she lived her life devoted to serving him.  She was a 13 year volunteer at the Medical Loan Closet of Hendersonville, and was active in her church, First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.  Cinda loved talking to and praying with her friends.

Cinda will be sorely missed by her friends and family who are comforted by the knowledge that she is no longer suffering from the cancer that took her life here on earth but simply promoted her to eternal life with her savior.  Her family would like to offer sincere thanks to the members of First Baptist Church who have been so supportive over the past months of illness, especially the Don Rabun Sunday school class who prayed for Cinda and for us, and the meals and personal visits during her last days.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years John Farren;  her two-stepchildren, David Farren and Kristin Christopher(Farren); her older brother, Tim Smith (Diana) and her younger brother, Jeff Smith (Linda) as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 2 at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church.
