Roy Kerr, age 85, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on February 9, 2026. Born in November 1940, Roy lived a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family.
Roy graduated with honors from Edneyville High School in 1958, a milestone he was proud of and one that reflected the strong work ethic he carried throughout his life. He retired in 1995 after 30 years of dedicated service with Berkeley Mills.
He was preceded in death by his son James Kerr and his parents Solan and Virgie Kerr.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Velma Kerr, his children Sandra Moreno (Mark), David Kerr (Jackie), Bobby Kerr (Janet), Bobby Morris, Kathy Thompson, and Tina Jones (Danny), his daughter-in-law Lora Kerr (widow of James Kerr), many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild on the way.
He loved gardening, golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family, who he loved very much and who were always at the center of his life. Roy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed.
Roy’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the values he instilled, and the many lives he touched. Memorial donations can be made to King’s Grove Baptist Church, where Roy attended, at 2798 Pace Rd, Hendersonville NC 28792.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Kings Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church
