Johnny Wayne Johnson, 76, of Hendersonville, passed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his residence.
A native of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Rueben and Euna Belle Griffin Dalton.
He retired from Olin Corporation after 40 years of faithful service. He loved NASCAR and was an avid Ford fan. Johnny had a passion for building flat track and motocross motorcycles. He sponsored numerous young men in motorcycle competitions. Having a passion for motorcycles, he was a member of The Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter NC – I Asheville and served as the Assistant Chapter Director.
Survivors include; his sister, Rita Sweezy and her husband Larry of Hendersonville; two nieces, Leslie Marty and her husband Marcus of Kannapolis, NC and Amy Palank and her husband Brian of Charlotte, NC and one great niece Adeline Marty.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 2 PM at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with the Rev. Dan Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow the service at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
