Lula Bell “Lou” Gossett, 84, of Hendersonville, NC passed peacefully Monday, February 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Lou was born and raised in Buncombe County and had lived in Henderson County for the past 9 years.
She was the daughter of the late James Francis Gossett and Blanche Myrtle Teague and was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wayne Gossett and Carl Gossett, a son, Lester Randolph “Randy” Brown and a grandson, Luke Jones.

She dedicated her life to serving the Lord, leading others to Christ and was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Rosemary Brown of Hendersonville, Carl F. Brown and his wife Tracey of Leicester, Barbara Hudson and husband Stan of Brevard and Douglas Brown of Candler; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Wells of Asheville and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 6th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at West Asheville Baptist Church, 926 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806. A Celebration of Lou’s Life will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Stan Welch and Rev. Tommy Madden officiating.
A private burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Leicester, NC.
