Robert Edward Mier of Hendersonville NC passed away on March 3, 2026.

Born in Akron, Ohio in 1941, he was a long-time resident of  Orlando,  Florida.

He served our country in the US Navy from 1960 to 1970 participating in Vietnam, then became a Communications Specialist for the Department of Defense.

He then earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Barry University and spent many years as a mental health counselor in Central Florida.

Bob had always been interested in painting in acrylics and he turned this skill into a business after retirement, selling his landscapes and other artwork at art shows and street fairs throughout the Southeast. Notable clients included the City of Winter Park, Church Street Station in Orlando and Orlando Airport. He was a long-time member of Unity Church Orlando.

In 2021, Bob and his wife moved to western North Carolina. In 2025, he participated in an Honor Flight to Washington DC which he enjoyed tremendously.

Bob leaves behind his wife, Kim Nelson, and children Chris (Jena), Debra (Sheila), Nikki (Oliver), Karl, Jeff, Dean and Kim; grandchildren John and Savanna; sister Luci Bullock Bell (Tim) and brother Tony; (Diane) nephew Zack.

A Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date.
