Coy Arrie Cantrell Jr, 65, of Saluda, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 04, 2021 from Pardee Hospital.
A native of Henderson county, he was the son of the late Coy A. and Irene Leila Reynolds Cantrell. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Cantrell and one brother-in-law, Dennis Allman.
He was a member of the Church of God. A carpenter by trade, Coy had a great passion for fishing and hunting and was a kind-hearted, generous man who never met a stranger and loved everyone. He loved his family and took great pride in his grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Gwen Allman Cantrell; two sons, Coy Cantrell III, (Tabatha) of Landrum, SC and Sandy Cantrell (Amber) of Hendersonville; two daughters, Tasha Summers (Logan) of Yakinville and Annie Welter (Greg) of Saluda; fourteen grandchildren, McKayla, Trinity, Lana, Collin, Temperance, Sarah, Jonathan, Damion, Devon, Sophie, Grace, Evelynn , Cullen, and Davis; one brother, Steve Cantrell of Saluda ; two sisters, MaryAnn Barnett (Larry) of Tryon and Irene “Sissy” Bright (Randy) of Hendersonville; two sisters-in-law, Jean Allman of Mullins, SC and Debra Pace of Saluda; one aunt and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2pm at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel and at other times the family will be at the home.
