Ernest Waldon Ruff, 86, of Edneyville went to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, March 06, 2025, following a period of declining health.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Amos and Aretta Masters Ruff. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Goldie Nelon Ruff in 2011; two sons; Clifton Ruff and Waldon Ruff, one daughter; Ann Ruff Gilbert and one brother, Arthur Ruff.
Over the years, Ernest wore many hats, he loved woodworking, fishing and hunting. His favorite pastime became being a “Paw Paw” and being with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved everything about his family and always enjoyed the times they spent together. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Robert Ruff of Edneyville, Tommie Ruff and his wife Angela of Sunny View, NC and Connie Laughter and her husband, Jeff of Edneyvillle. One brother Lee Ruff of Etowah and one sister Esther Mae Rossburge of Ocala, FL; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at two o’clock in the afternoon at In Jesus Name Church with the Reverend Dale Gilbert and Reverend Bryan Melton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and at other times be at the home of Jeff and Connie Laughter.
