Raul Vasallo, lovingly embraced by family and friends, bid farewell to this world on March 10, 2024. Born on July 28, 1931, in Tapaste, Cuba to Marcelino and Paula Vasallo, Raul’s life was a testament to dedication, service, and love.
From his early days, Raul displayed a strong work ethic, accompanying his father in the dairy delivery service. Over time, he managed his own route, touching the lives of many with his warm smile, good looks, and genuine kindness. It was during these journeys that he encountered the love of his life, Emma Jean Vasallo, the daughter of a local store owner. Their love story blossomed into a beautiful union, and on February 23, 1957, they were married in Havana, Cuba. In 1962, he brought his immediate family to the United States, leaving behind family and friends, to provide a better life for his wife and children.
Raul’s faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He found comfort and purpose in his relationship with Jesus Christ, committing himself to a life of service. His legacy of generosity and compassion continued to reverberate, a testament to expanding the gospel to everyone he met.
Raul leaves behind a cherished legacy, embraced by his beloved wife, Emma Jean Vasallo, and his adoring daughters Mayra Caceres, Lily Mraz, and Myriam Asbury. He is remembered fondly by his sons-in-law, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother Onel Vasallo.
Though “Papa” is no longer walking among us, the essence of who he was, the love, wisdom, and unwavering example he showed us will forever be imprinted in our hearts and minds. We love you, Papa!!!
