Harold Winfield Koeppen Jr., 78, of Flat Rock, passed unexpectedly on Sunday March 19, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Born on January 14,1945 in Jersey City, N.J. he served in the U.S army during the Vietnam war and was stationed in Hawaii. He worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield for 25 yrs. After leaving Blue Cross & Blue Shield he spent the rest of his career working as a freight forwarder and customs broker in the shipping industry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Koeppen; his children, Donna Koeppen, Ivette Ellis, Jill Tuazon and her husband Alan, Charles Koeppen; three stepsons, Jason Barclift and his wife Kim, Kevin Barclift and his wife, Cori, Andrew Barclift and his wife, Jasmine; ten grandchildren, Elijah, Leah, McKenzie, Harper, Aiden, Kerrigan, Whitley-Kate, Isaac, Maddie-Grace and Kenadie; brother, Douglas A. Koeppen and his wife Susan; three nephews.
A memorial service for Harold will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Mudd Creek Baptist Church, 403 Rutledge Dr Hendersonville, NC 28739 . We will be welcoming visitors prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church.
A graveside service will be held in a few weeks in Norfolk, VA for interment of his ashes.
