Mahlon Joe Hudgins, Jr., 78 of Dana, went to be with Jesus, Saturday, April 10, 2021 at his home.
A native of Henderson County, he was born February 23, 1943 to the late Mahlon Joe Hudgins Sr. and Dorothy Collins Hudgins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five sisters, Delno Jackson and husband Richard, Bell Laughter and husband Milo, Edith McCall and husband John, Margaret Bridges and husband Jim, Jean Jones and husband Fred and one brother, Samuel Hudgins and his wife Lois.
He served in the US Army for four years.
Mahlon worked at Dupont till his retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Polly Hensley Hudgins; his daughter, Tina Hudgins Hickey and husband Jason Hickey and a son Mahlon Hudgins III; a brother, David Hudgins; three grandchildren, Jade Hudgins and fiancé Timothy, Tasha Hickey and Jessica Parker and husband Josh; three great grandchildren, Brantlee Hudgins, Makenzie Parker and Braylee Hudgins and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 14th at Sugarloaf Baptist Church and at other times will be at the home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randy Teague, Rev. Robert Garren and Dr. Randy Tryon officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers family requests that donations in Mahlon’s memory be directed to Sugarloaf Baptist Church, 3146 Ridge Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
