“Well Done, good and faithful servant” with these words in our hearts, we honor the life of Troy Lee Maybin, age 76, of Zirconia, NC who was welcomed into Heaven and embraced by GOD’s love on April 10th, after a brief battle with cancer, rejoicing in the promise of eternal life.
A native of Henderson County he was a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church! He spent over 30 years working with Dupont before continuing his career with more than a decade of service at Selee Corp. In addition, he proudly served his community as a county commissioner from 1980 to 1988 and spent over sixty years safely transporting students as a bus driver for the public school system.
Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Pearl Capps; parents, Lincoln and Carrie Capps Maybin; brothers, Ted and Theron Maybin; sisters, Gladys Ballard and Margaret (Tennie) Bailey; daughter, LeAdele and a granddaughter Lily.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rhonda Holbert Maybin; his son, Kristian Maybin; brothers, Homer (Terry), Joe (Sue), James, Johnny (Joyce), Sammy (Lisa) Lanny (Tonya) and Mitchell; sisters, Jane Ballard (Robert), Lugenia Hill (Edsel); sister-in-law, Mary Lois Maybin. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and a host of friends.
A private graveside service for immediate family will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 15th at McDowell Cemetery, Zirconia, NC with Rev. James Maybin officiating. Following the service, family and friends are invited for cake and ice cream at the residence
