Kathy Lynn Brackett, born July 23, 1958, passed away Monday, April 13th, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family and the memories she created throughout her life.
Kathy was the beloved daughter of Doris Brackett and the late James Brackett of Hoopers Creek. She was preceded in death by her father, James Brackett, and her brother, Roger Brackett.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her mother, Doris Brackett; her son, Matt Brackett (Stephanie); and the light of her world, her two grandsons, Riley and Weston, who brought her immeasurable joy. Kathy is also survived by her brothers, Ted Brackett (Cory), Jerry Brackett (Nannette), and Scott Brackett (Sarah); her sister, Kay Arnold (Bob); and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Kathy loved caring for children through her work in the PSPM after-school care program. She had a special place in her heart for every child she encountered, and her kindness and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on many young lives.
She was faithful to Fletcher First Baptist Church. Kathy lived her life with a strong sense of faith and always kept her sights on meeting the Lord.
Kathy will be remembered for her giving heart, her devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with others. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A funeral service will be at 2:00pm Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Fletcher First Baptist Church (old sanctuary). The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in Hoopers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
