Walter Gerald Cantrell “Jerry”
Jerry Cantrell, 78, of Hendersonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2024. Jerry was born in Henderson County on May 7, 1945. He was the son of the late Walter Adison Cantrell and Joyce Kerr Cantrell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nieces, Becky Douthwaite and Stacy Hansen of Orlando, FL.
He is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Gail Cantrell; his daughters, Tonya Case (Lee), Greta Gosnell (Earl); his son, Tim Cantrell (Kathy) and daughter Tracy Patty; his sisters, Gwen Phillips (Jeff), Diane Douthwaite (Steve); and brother, Andy Cantrell (Kim). He was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren, Kayla Woodring (Justin), Nicole Collins (Matt), Colton Cantrell, Megan Gosnell (Drew), Amber Orr (Brentley) Brooke Gordon (James) and Brendan Patty. He has ten great-grandkids, Walker Swabe, Riley Collins, Cadien Collins, Hailey Gardella, Kale Woodring, Lilly Case, Anna Case, Tucker Gordon, Sawyer Gordon, and Everett Orr; his nieces, Heather Buritsch (Clay), Beth Cantrell and nephew Brian Cantrell (Mary).
His greatest joy in life was being with his family and friends. It didn’t matter if he was at the farm, riding horses, camping or at the beach. He enjoyed working his sawmill and making presents for his family with his fresh cut boards. After a hard day of working or playing you could find him under a shade tree or in his recliner with his dog in his lap.
Services will be held at 2 pm at Beulah Baptist Church, 7088 Willow Road, Hendersonville, NC on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
