Kenneth J. “Kenny” Hamilton, 79, of Hendersonville, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026 peacefully at his home.
Kenneth Jearld “Kenny” Hamilton, 79, of Hendersonville, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026 peacefully at his home.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and Donald Hamilton and his grandparents, Ephraim and Nancy Reece Hollingsworth.
He graduated from West Henderson High School in 1966. After graduation, Kenny was drafted into the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. After Vietnam he served in the Army Reserve for 18 years and had also served in the North Carolina Army National Guard in Henderson County.
He retired from Duke Power after over 30 years of service.
Kenny enjoyed deer hunting and being outdoors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Terry Sweeney Hamilton, his son, Matt Hamilton and his wife Tammy of Candler, NC, a daughter, Laura Ward and her husband Travis of Saluda; two grandchildren, Dylan Ward of Saluda and Megan Ward of Saluda; a sister, Linda Hamilton Holbert of Sumter, SC and a niece and a nephew.
A funeral will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 18th at Gethsemane Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Pridmore officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by the US Army and the Henderson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
