Barbara Jean “Ma” Roberts, aka Ma-Gyver, Ma of all trades and Ma to anyone in need. Her home and heart were always open to any soul in need. Her candy dishes were always over-flowing and her selflessness and love were never-ending. Her hugs were warm and always in abundance. She was full of quick wit and wisdom and never judgement.
In NY, she was a stay-at-home mom and then worked as a secretary at Zeiser Wilbert Vault Inc. in Elmira NY. She was an actress or was involved backstage in numerous small theater productions with Elmira Little Theater and was even a hand model once in a local TV commercial. She moved to Jacksonville Florida in 2005 to be closer to family. Then in 2016 she moved with her daughter and son in law to Hendersonville North Carolina where she lived out her retirement. She enjoyed shopping, eating out and wandering at the NC Arboretum. She was always one to stop and smell the roses. The last few years she battled with dementia and more recently she braved two surgeries to try to remedy the complications created by a large brain aneurysm. She is predeceased by her parents LeRoy and Valerie Havekost Sr. previously of Saddle Brook NJ. Those left here on earth that will miss her the most are daughter and son-in- law Kristen and Eric Fallen of Hendersonville NC, brother and sister-in-law LeRoy and Eileen Havekost Jr. of Jacksonville FL, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in and around FL, NJ and GA and many friends in upstate NY. A Celebration of Life is being planned for Sunday May 22, 2022 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Five Points Chapel in Jacksonville Florida.
