Victoria Elaine Velasco, 68, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, in Mill Spring, North Carolina. Born on September 5, 1957, in San Diego, California, Victoria lived a life full of adventure, kindness, and connection.

Victoria dedicated two decades of her career to serving others as a medical assistant at Kaiser Permanente. Her compassion and dedication to her work left a lasting impact on those she assisted.

Her adventurous spirit led her to explore the United States before settling in the beautiful hills of North Carolina. There, she owned and operated a campground in Franklin, creating a welcoming place for travelers and nature enthusiasts alike. She also worked as a table games dealer at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino for several years, where her charm and wit undoubtedly brought joy to many.

In her later years, Victoria retired to Mill Spring, where she embraced the tranquility of farm life, and shared her love of animals- rescued horses, dogs, and cats. She found joy in the natural world around her and sharing her love of life with those fortunate enough to be in her company.

A talented cook known especially for her tacos, Victoria delighted friends and family with her culinary creations.

Her warmth extended beyond the kitchen—she loved entertaining and bringing laughter to everyone she met. Victoria’s sense of humor was captivating, and her honesty and kindness were hallmarks of her character. She had an extraordinary ability to make people feel valued and loved. Friday nights playing Bingo in Tryon became a cherished tradition for Victoria, where she formed lasting friendships that enriched her life.

Victoria is survived by her beloved partner, Audrey Fraser; her brother Thomas of Portland, Oregon; nephews Todd Velasco and Che Velasco; niece Jin Velasco; and great-nephews Jacob, Zachary, and Christopher. She was predeceased by her parents Victor and Elaine (Espinoza) Velasco and her brother Richard.

Victoria’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity. She shared her joys freely with all who knew her and left an indelible mark on their hearts. May the memory of Victoria Elaine Velasco bring comfort to those who mourn her passing while celebrating the remarkable life she lived.
