Sylvester Jerome “Jerry” Giles of Hendersonville died Friday, April 24, 2020.
He was born Aug. 2, 1945, in New York City, a son of the late Laura Weidemann and Sylvester J. “Lester” Giles.
He grew up in New Jersey and moved to North Carolina in the mid-1970s.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Weidemann and John Craig: and a niece, Dawn Lucas.
He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Kelly Giles Alderete of Hendersonville; a son, Zachary M Giles of East Flat Rock; two sisters, Joan Craig of Meridian, Idaho, and Lorraine Gola of Manchester, New Jersey; two grandsons, Cael Alderete of Roswell, New Mexico, and Josiah Snipes of Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, C.K. Perkins of Riverdale, New Jersey, and Tim Gibson of Hendersonville.
No service will be held.
