Cheryl Lee Metcalf, 60, of Asheville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Henderson County, Cheryl was the beloved daughter of the late George and Katalee Foshee Metcalf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Metcalf.
Cheryl was a true people person who never met a stranger. She had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went and found great joy in helping others. Her kind heart, warm smile, and compassionate spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Cheryl took immense pride in caring for others throughout her life and career. A graduate of Isothermal Community College, she devoted more than 30 years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant, touching countless lives with her dedication and gentle care.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Heavan Demag; her son, Charlie Demag, Jr.; her sisters, Linda Krawiec, Kathy Kilpatrick, Joyce Ventura and her husband, Vince, and Karen Gilbert and her husband, Buddy, her brothers, Larry Metcalf and George Metcalf. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Henry, as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held at a later date.
Cheryl will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering willingness to help others, and the love she so freely shared with family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will be treasured always.
