Robert “Bob” Wayne Allen, 65, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He
was reunited with his parents, Carl Malone Allen and Mary Helen Whitaker Allen; grandparents, Edgar
Whitaker and Edith Sitton Whitaker; and cousin, Sid Whitaker.
Bob spent his life in North Mills River and was a graduate of West Henderson High School. He spent his
career at General Electric as a press operator where he retired after 30 years of service.
In the years after his retirement, Bob enjoyed being on the family farm with his cousin Sid. He loved to
hunt, fish, and be out in nature. He also enjoyed swimming and being on the lake with his good friends.
He was loved by all who had the chance to know him and will be dearly missed.
Bob is survived by his brother Steve Allen and sister-in-law Tricia Allen; nephew; Andy Allen; nephew,
Matthew Allen and his wife Christina Allen; niece, Kerry Ravan and her husband Cameron Ravan; and
great nieces, Maylin and Ella Allen. He loved his family and friends very much.
Services will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Mills River Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with the Reverend
Thomas Glenn officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 pm. Burial
will follow at the Whitaker-Moore Cemetery. Following the service, family and friends are invited for a
dinner at the church.
