Charles Lee Freeman, 85, of Bat Cave, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. A native of Bat Cave, he was the son of the late Woodrow Ned Freeman and Minnie Elder Bailey Freeman. While serving in the US Army, he was stationed in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from the Maintenance Department at UNC-A and was a member of Bat Cave Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brook Freeman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marie Halford Freeman; sons, Stephen Lee (Joyce) Freeman and Charles Daniel (Traci) Freeman; grandchildren, Clay, Hailey, Timothy, Drew, and Lauri; great grandson, Cameron; and dog, Ginger.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, May 14 at Hill Family Cemetery, Bat Cave with Rev. David MacEachern officiating.
