Helen Louise Capps, 91, of Greenville, SC  went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 19, 2023 at The Pines at Greenville Assisted Living.

A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Fred and Ruby Bishop Lance and wife of the late Herbert Capps. She was predeceased by one daughter, Nancy Gail Wilkie; two granddaughters, Tracy Wilkie and Wanda L. Wilkie; one brother, Robert Lance; and two sisters, Ada Mae Moore, Jane Patterson.

Helen was a godly woman who loved being a homemaker. A loving, devoted wife and mother, she loved taking care of her family. Helen enjoyed cooking and baking and made the best German Chocolate cake you ever tasted. She was a seamstress, having made clothing for people all over North and South Carolina. She had a passion for making quilts and loved teaching others the craft.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, John Capps and his wife Judi, Randall Capps and his wife Kathleen and Kevin Capps and his wife Sabrina; two grandchildren, Lisa Roper (Eric) and Lindsay Arnold (Brandon); one great granddaughter, Rachel Roper; and one brother John Lance.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 23, 2023 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Shepherd Memorial Park, 5045 Asheville Highway, Hendersonville, NC 28791 with the Reverend Dr. Gary Rogers officiating.
