Tonya Eugenia Romero Urvina, 50, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on May 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 10, 1975, in Asheville, NC, Tonya grew up with a deep sense of care, strength and compassion that would define every chapter of her life. She faced life’s challenges with grace, always taking care of everthing and everyone – no matter how overwhelming and doing so with a kind heart that never wavered.
Tonya is survived by her loving husband, Bernardino Romero Urvina, her devoted children; Nicholas and Nakhia, her mother; Glenna Morgan and her cherished sisters; Angela Martinez- Quintana (Miguel) and Holly Morgan. She was a proud and loving aunt to Ashley, Amber, Belen, Amanda, Aaliyah, Jamarion, and many others whose lives she helped shape.
She was preceded in death by Edith Ray, Dallas Van Morgan, and Sandra Wright, whom she loved dearly.Tonya was passionate about things and people she loved, from her treasured collection of frogs to her love of apples, to the fierce dedcation she poured into raising her children with unwavering love and advocacy. She was the heart of her home, the glue of her family, and the one everyone turned to for help, for comfort and for strength.
She will be remembered as the very best wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Someone who gave freely of herself, no matter what. Her kindness touched everyone she met and her memory will continue to live on in the lives she held together with love.
A celebration of Tonya’s life will be held Sunday, June 01, 2025 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Fruitland Baptist Church.
