James Joseph Spachman Sr., 90, of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
He was the son of the late James Adolph Spachman and Beatrix Ann Moravec Spachman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bea Eddings, and her husband, Ron.
James was the proud founder of S & S Fence Company and was well known throughout the community for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He was a member of the Hendersonville Country Club, an avid golfer, and enjoyed hunting and hiking. Hiking was where he felt closest to God and where he found peace and reflection in nature.
He especially treasured the time spent cheering on his grandson, Logan, at baseball games. To many friends and extended family members, he was affectionately known as “Daddy Spach.” James deeply loved his family and cherished every moment shared with them.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife and companion of twenty-seven years, the last thirteen as husband and wife, Carol Sue Pierce; two sons, James Spachman Jr. (Michelle) and Michael Spachman (Kim); one daughter, Kathy Spachman; one stepdaughter, Cyndy Robinson; one stepson, Steven Perry (Kelly), grandchildren: Zach Rhodes (Becca), McKenna Sayles (Ethan), Jarrett Spachman, Logan Spachman, Joshua Nelson; and Brannon Hamm; great-grandchildren, Callie, Addy, Charlie, and Dawson.
Memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Humane Society.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
