Robert Henry Nixon, 96 passed away on May 22, 2020 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Hendersonville, NC.
He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to his father, Robert Henry Dixon and mother, Iva Manion Nixon. He is survived by his children; Cassie Small, (John) of Altamonte Springs, Fl., Rosie Nixon of Fort Collins, Co., Suzie Nixon of Carlsbad, Ca., Sally Hutchinson (Phil) of Fort Collins, Co., Julia Colebank (Scott), of Jackson, Ms., and Robert H. Nixon (Amy), of Harrison, Oh. He was also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He served proudly in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II where he served in both Germany and France.
Robert had a very successful career in the real estate market. His hobbies included natural history, gem cutting, and castings for museums.
Robert had a special place in his heart for his friend and partner of 33 years, Carolyn Mabry who shared their life together.
He will be remembered for his many accomplishments in life, his military service, and will be missed by all who knew him.
