Joan Catherine Mullen, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in Hendersonville, NC. Born on March 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John E. Miller and Lucy Nowveraski Miller.
She graduated high School in Baldwin, Long Island, NY and went on to work for an insurance company as a receptionist. She was an avid seamstress and quilter, making her own clothes and many for her grandchildren. She also volunteered many years for Hospice using her quilting skills to create lap quilts and pillows.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mullen.
She is survived by her four children, Kathy McCauley and husband Ronnie, Don Mullen, Joe Mullen and wife Darlene, Nancy Edwards and husband Tim; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Kristen, Colton, Whitney, Wesley, Joshua and Stephanie; and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 2pm, In The Chapel in The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service, located at 1101 Greenville, Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28792. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Four Seasons Hospice.
