Peggy Jean Smith, 91, of Hendersonville, NC passed away peacefully Monday, May 29, 2023.
She was born in Glenville, North Carolina and lived most of her life in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Hayes and Julia Hooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin B. Smith and her siblings, Duane Hooper, Brownlow Hooper, Wendell Hooper and Betty Jo Hooper.
She retired from the Henderson County School System after 30 plus years of service.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Smith of Brevard, North Carolina, her daughter, Rhonda Smith (Alan Seigel) of Birmingham, Alabama, her granddaughter, Jessica Hicks (Chris Hicks) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina and two great grandchildren, Madelyn Hicks and Curtis Hicks both of Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
