Carol (Serfling) Davis, age 81, passed away on May 27, 2026 at Life Care Center, Hendersonville, North Carolina after suffering a long illness.
She was born and raised in Pennsauken, New Jersey and is a graduate of the Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Carol pursued a career in nursing throughout her adult life, specializing in geriatric and memory care.
In 1985, Carol founded Promise Day Care Center for Adults in CherryHill, New Jersey, which she managed for 7 years. At the time of opening Promise, the concept of day care centers for adults was new, and Carol made use of her knowledge and creative talents in starting this facility.
In 1996, Carol moved to Sarasota, Florida, where she continued her career in senior care.
In 2007, Carol retired and moved to Asheville, NC where she resided with her husband, B. Franklin Davis (deceased 2016).
Carol is survived by her stepson, Bryan Davis, Hendersonville, NC; stepson Andrew Davis of Sarasota, Florida; sister JoAnne McCann, Bridgeville, Delaware; and sister Leann Gramenzi, Laurel Springs, New Jersey.
Carol had deep faith and abiding love for the Lord and was an inspiration to many of her family members, loyal caregivers and acquaintances.
Private burial services were conducted by Jackson Funeral Home on June 1, 2026.
