Bill graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1951. During his time there, he served as the Art Director for the *Aquila*, the school’s yearbook. His artistic talent shone through as he hand-drew the section dividers featured in the publication. He went on to pursue higher education at Lafayette College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in 1963. Throughout his career as a mechanical engineer, Bill achieved numerous certifications and licenses that reflected his expertise and commitment to his field.

In the early 1950s, Bill proudly served his country as a Radarman in the United States Navy aboard the USS Blackwood and USS Greenwood. His time in the Navy exemplified his sense of duty and discipline.

Bill was married to Jane (Straube) for an incredible 69 years before her passing. Together they built a loving family that includes their son Jeffrey and daughter Jill. He was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Jeffrey Jr., David Baack, Justin Baack (Theresa), and Angelle Baack. He was predeceased by his wife Jane; his brother Carl and sister-in-law Doris; his sister Esther Reiss and brother-in-law Ralph; and his half-sister Doris Nice and brother-in-law Denis.

An avid golfer, Bill could often be found on the golf course enjoying one of his favorite pastimes. His love for music was evident through his years playing trumpet with the town band in Marshalltown, Iowa. Additionally, Bill had a remarkable talent for cartooning. He delighted family members with custom-made birthday cards, gift certificates, and get-well cards adorned with his unique drawings—each one a testament to his creativity and humor.

As the eldest of five children, Bill’s life was enriched by strong familial bonds that extended across generations. His legacy is one of love, artistry, service, and dedication—a life well-lived that will be cherished by all who knew him.
