Norbert “Norm” Ehrike, 64, of Saluda went home peacefully to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2020. He was born in 1956 in Nuremburg, Germany to Irma Weinberger.
In 1963 he moved to Stratford Wisconsin with his mother, Irma; stepfather, William Ehrike; sister, Mavis and brothers, Kevin and Keith. January 21, 1980, he enlisted in the Army where he served six years protecting our country. It was there he met some lifelong friends. In 1981, while living in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he met his beautiful wife, Barbara Bradley. They married on July 3, 1982. That same year they moved to Miami, Florida where he enjoyed boating, scuba diving, fishing and coaching his children’s Little League teams. He spent the summers in the mountains of North Carolina, hiking, swimming and enjoying nature. In 1993, after much hard work and dedication, he started his business, Quality Design and Construction Inc., who’s doors were still open the last day of his life. In 2000 he moved his family to Saluda, NC for a more peaceful and idyllic atmosphere. In 2004, he and his wife joined First United Methodist Church where they became youth counselors, ushers and dedicated members.
he is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ehrike; daughters, Jennifer (Anthony) Hershey, Tamra (Nelson) Hernandez and Samantha (Jordon) Ehrike; son, Robert Brown; grandchildren, A.J. and Vincent Hershey, Ethan and Mia Hernandez, Robbie and Jaxon Brown; mother, Irma Ehrike; brothers, Kevin Ehrike and Keith Ehrike. We also cannot forget about his fur baby, Kipper D.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic protocols, a memorial service will be for immediate family members only at 10:00 am Saturday, June 20, 2020 in the garden of First United Methodist Church . All family and friends are invited to join the celebration of his life at 11:30 am Saturday, June 20, 2020 at his home 930 Big Raven Lane, Saluda, NC.
