Brenda J. “Sissy” Drake, 80, of Flat Rock, North Carolina went her Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Born on July 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Sue McCall Anders.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Drake, brothers, Eddie Anders and Clifton Anders and sisters-in-law, Linda Anders and Debbie Anders.
Brenda worked many years at Community Cash as a cashier. She later worked with handicapped children at Helping Hand Child Development Center. And lastly, she worked at Heritage Hills Assisted Living Center. It was through these jobs that she taught her family the value of hard work and serving people. During the course of her 80 years on Earth, she helped numerous people and touched numerous lives in the community. She showcased God’s love in everything she did. She loved people well and served her community well.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angie King (Doug) of Flat Rock, her son, Jeff Drake (Bobbie) of Hendersonville, brother, David Anders of Virginia, brothers-in-law, Chris Drake (Shirley) of Hendersonville and Tim Drake (Brenda) of Arden, NC and the absolute love and joy of her life, her granddaughters, Katie and Meredith King of Flat Rock.
“Sissy” was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved people and her home was always one of fellowship and love. Her favorite role had to be that of being “Granny” to her favorite girls.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, June 24, at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Anthony Craver officiating.
The family will have a private burial.
