Barbara Jean Simpson Stepp, 81, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at The Greens at Hendersonville.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and the daughter of the late Edgar Simpson and Hazel Bradley Simpson.
She is survived by her daughter, Toni Raines of Arden; her son, Shawn Stepp of Charlotte; four grandchildren; and two beloved great-grandchildren.
Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness touched everyone she met. She had a warm smile that made people feel welcome, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and the love she shared so freely with family, friends, and strangers alike.
Barbara’s memory will be cherished always by those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held, Friday, July 10, 2026 at two o’clock in the afternoon at The chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
