Kerry Dean Marshall, 60, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 29, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Above all else, Kerry loved Jesus Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding the way he loved, served, and cared for those around him. He lived with quiet strength, a generous heart, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
Kerry’s heart belonged to his wife, Peggy, the love of his life and best friend. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, service, and making lasting memories. Every day, Kerry found a way to remind Peggy how much she meant to him through loving text messages, encouraging words, funny videos, thoughtful gifts, and the countless little ways he made sure she always knew she was deeply loved. She was, and always will be, the love of his life.
He was a proud and devoted father whose love for his children knew no bounds. He faithfully prayed for them, encouraged them, celebrated their successes, quietly carried their burdens as his own, and would have done anything for them. Becoming “Papaw” to Bowen brought him immeasurable joy and was one of the greatest blessings of his life. Kerry also shared a special bond with his loving father, Dean, and his cousin Joe, cherishing every moment they spent together.
Whether sitting beside his family in church, cheering on the Clemson Tigers, spending time at the beach or the lake, gathering for Thursday night family dinners, or simply soaking up the sunshine, Kerry was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. It never mattered where they were, only that they were together. His laughter, contagious smile, easygoing spirit, and playful sense of humor turned ordinary moments into cherished memories that his family will treasure forever. Family photos were rarely complete without Kerry photobombing the picture by sticking out his tongue, giving someone bunny ears, or finding another way to make everyone laugh.
Kerry had a servant’s heart. He was dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors, or even someone he had just met. As the owner of Faith Builders Grading, Kerry truly loved what he did and often joked that he was fortunate to make a living “playing in the dirt.” A kid at heart, he embraced every day and took great pride in creating something lasting with his own hands.
Kerry loved God, his family, his community, and his country, and he quietly lived out his faith through acts of kindness that often went unnoticed. Whether anonymously paying for a stranger’s meal, helping a family in need, or offering assistance without expecting anything in return, he found joy in serving others. His kindness, humility, and quiet generosity touched countless lives.
Those who knew Kerry will remember his warm smile, quick wit, gentle spirit, and remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. He loved deeply, laughed often, worked faithfully, and lived each day with gratitude for God’s blessings.
Although his family grieves the tremendous loss of his earthly presence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and find comfort knowing he has been made whole in the presence of the Lord. Kerry’s legacy is one of faith, love, selfless service, unwavering devotion to his family, and a life well lived. His greatest accomplishment was not measured by possessions or titles but by the countless lives he loved, encouraged, and impacted.
Kerry was preceded in death by his mother, Oma Gail Seal and his paternal grandparents, Willie B. and Christine Marshall.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Peggy Marshall; his son, Jared Marshall and his wife, Brittany; his grandson, Bowen Marshall; his daughter, Morgan Marshall; his father, Dean Marshall and his wife, Dot; and many other beloved extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 3 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Refuge Baptist Church, with a celebration of Kerry’s life beginning at 2:45 p.m. Kerry will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will receive friends at their home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church or the Henderson County Education Foundation, so that Kerry’s legacy of loving and serving others may continue.
Jackson Funeral Service is honored to serve the Marshall family.
