Jean (Jeannie) Audrey Dawson Lindell, 82, passed away peacefully at home with her husband of 61 years after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer. Jeannie was a faithful servant of the Lord, who was baptized into Christ in accordance with Acts 2:38 (KJV). Through her baptism and continued faith in Christ, Jeannie’s family is comforted that she is with the Lord.
Jeannie was born October 1938 in McKeesport, Pa. to the late Ted and Ann Dawson. She graduated from Slippery Rock College with a teaching degree and delighted in her years as a high school English teacher. It was at Slippery Rock that Jeannie met Joe; they were married Nov. 27, 1959 and lived more than 61 years as best friends, partners and faithful servants of the Lord. No two people were ever more suited to each other than Jeannie and Joe, who lovingly cared for her through her last day.
In addition to her husband Joe, Jeannie is survived by her son Mark Lindell of Flat Rock; her daughter Nancy Lindell, of Arden; her granddaughters Samantha Allen and Rebecca Allen of Arden, who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Carol O’Neal of Georgia, Marjorie Faucette of Florida, and Cynthia Say of Colorado; and her brother Tedd Dawson also of Colorado. Her brother John Dawson preceded her in death.
Among many things, Jeannie will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, her amazing strength, her love of words, puzzles and Hallmark movies and for her genuine kindness, quick wit, beautiful smile and her heartfelt hugs.
Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
